This document explains how to export an ATLAS 9 workbook and open it in ATLAS 10.
Export from ATLAS 9
- In ATLAS 9, open the workbook you wish to export using File|Open
- With the workbook open, select File|Export Workbook. An XML representation of your workbook will be created in the same folder as the original workbook. It will have the same filename as your original workbook but with the .xml extension. For example if your workbook is named MyWorkbook.wbk, it will be saved as MyWorkbook.xml.
Import into ATLAS 10
- Start ATLAS 10
- From the menu select, File|Open
- In the Open dialog, change the filetype (pulldown in bottom-right) to ATLAS 9 Workbook (*.xml)
- Navigate to the exported XML workbook file from the above step, select it and click Open
- When the workbook is opened, save it as an ATLAS 10 workbook by going to File|Save As and saving in the Workbook (*.wbkx) format. This is more efficient than the exported XML.
Once this process is complete you can open the file just like any other ATLAS 10 workbook.
The workbook import brings across pages, displays, parameters and their properties. It does not bring across page layouts as the docking framework of ATLAS 10 cannot fully represent the pages created in the MDI framework of ATLAS 9.
The export feature is updated with newer releases of ATLAS 9 so if the import is incomplete, please try upgrading ATLAS 9 to the most recent version and running through the process again.
